Thank you to all who participated in our annual climate survey. Based on your feedback, we have some growth to celebrate and some work to do.
I am pleased to see that we are maintaining very strong knowledge of and support for our strategic plan. For the past several years, over 90 percent of you have said you are familiar with the plan and more than 80 percent support it. Our scores in both were higher than ever this year. This is critical because we will only achieve our goals if we are all moving in the same direction.
This year we saw significant growth in the number of you who say you have the resources and support to accomplish our strategic goals. While we still have much room for improvement, it is good to see an eight-point increase in this score over last year.
One area where you indicated a need for improvement is in curriculum. Fewer than half of you expressed confidence in the curriculum and resources you have to work with. We are taking steps to address that with curriculum adoptions in K-8 math and secondary social studies, which are now in progress.
My team and I are reviewing the full climate survey together and will continue to draw on your feedback as we plan for the year ahead and beyond. We appreciate your willingness to share your perspectives as we work together to improve our system.
