Valerie Allan

Valerie Allan, Director of Social services


Val oversees all district school social workers and supports for Teen Parents, McKinney-Vento, Foster Care, Truancy, the Crisis Team and various mental health supports such as Best Starts for Kids-SBIRT and Kaiser Mental Health grant. Val acts as a liaison and coordinates with a variety of disciplines and community agencies to ensure students and families are connected to vital resources within the school district and Highline community.

Lauren Thompson

Lauren Thompson, Compliance Manager & 504 Coordinator


Lauren assists the Social Services Director to assure correct processing for the social services programs, including serving as the liaison between the department, Business Services, Human Resources and school staff. She serves as the district’s 504 Coordinator in addition to overseeing program compliance with Medicaid Administrative Claiming, McKinney-Vento, and Foster Care.

Antonio Lewis

Antonio Lewis, McKinney-Vento & Foster Care Liaison


Antonio oversees the McKinney-Vento (MV) and Foster Care process and compliance services for our students and families that are in transition or homeless. He is the liaison to the state compliance auditors at OSPI. He is responsible for coordinating services such as transportation and free nutrition for McKinney-Vento-qualified or Foster Care students. He works with community partners, social workers, transportation, and many others to bring the services and resources to the MV and FC students that will help remove barriers to their education.

Rachel Madding

Rachel Madding, School Mental Health Program Manager


Rachel manages the work of the Kaiser Mental Health Grant. This includes leading the grant team and works with various stakeholders including; district and school based staff, community mental health partners, grant evaluators, Kaiser/Thriving Schools and others to achieve the outcomes of the grant

Sahra Perretz-Rosales, Teen Parent Case Manager


Sahra works in collaboration with school staff, social service agencies, and community organizations to support the district´s pregnant and parenting students. As a social worker, her focus is removing barriers to educational access and promoting the health of students and their families. She connects students with academic, health and mental health resources and serves a resource to staff regarding culturally responsive educational practices.
