The Human Resources Department is a service-oriented team that supports the recruiting, screening, interviewing and placing of Highline employees. The department also manages employee relations with the Highline Education Association and Teamsters.

Steve Grubb, Chief Talent Officer


Steve promotes and implements HR values by planning and managing programs and staff to recruit, retain, and promote a diverse, highly qualified staff at every level of the school district. He also develops organization strategies by identifying HR issues for administrators related to labor relations.

Christina Larsen, Executive Director of Human Resources


Chris leads the efforts to identify how Human Resources can better deliver services to all employees. This includes formulating plans on how to work smarter and more efficiently as a team, and providing excellent customer service.

Sara Baker, Director of Recruitment, Retention and Labor Relations


Sara leads the recruitment and retention efforts, for all teachers and staff, including hard-to-fill positions. She and her team also work to increase the diversity of our staff through pre-service programs, pathway programs and early hiring programs.
