Our health coverage is changing. The state is consolidating all school district health insurance plans into a single plan, under new state law.
Here’s a timeline and a heads up on when you can expect to hear from us about enrolling in the new School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Program.
► Watch your mailbox for Intercom, the SEBB Program newsletter.
► Get ready to enroll your dependents by rounding up verification documents. You can find a list of acceptable valid documents and other online resources in a postcard from us in August.
► Save the date! Human Resources will host a SEBB Informational Session on August 22 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Central Office Boardroom. We will have two similar sessions in September.
► Human Resources will hold a Limited Open Enrollment from September 9-16 for changes to 2019 benefits.
Changes made during the Limited Open Enrollment will only be effective for two months (November 1 - December 31, 2019). If you wish to remain enrolled in your current Medical and Dental plans; DO NOTHING. Benefits will not change. Since we are self-funded for United Concordia dental, these rates could increase for the same time period. Pooling rates will be recalculated in October.
Who might benefit from the Limited Open Enrollment? Employees that missed previous enrollment deadlines for themselves and/or dependents may want to take advantage of two months of insurance. Contact Human Resources/Benefits to enroll or make changes to your coverage.
► The School Employee Initial Enrollment Guide mails mid-month. Explore your benefit options, compare plans, see your monthly premiums, and check on plan availability in your area. You will also find this information on the SEBB website.
► Save the Date! Human Resources will host a two additional SEBB Informational Sessions on September 6 and 20 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Central Office North Classroom.
► The SEBB Program’s first annual open enrollment begins October 1. You must take action to enroll in or waive your benefits or you will be automatically enrolled as an employee-only in the default plans. Enroll through SEBB My Account, our online enrollment system.
► There will be lots of opportunities to learn about your benefits and find the best plan to fit your needs.

► Human Resources will be available Fridays in the Central Office Computer lab to assist employees in navigating the online enrollment process. Once you’ve chosen your health insurance plans, come ready to enroll with your dependent verification documents. Save the date to meet with the HR team:
- October 4, 11, 18, 25
- November 1, 8
► November 15 is the last day of open enrollment. Be sure to select your insurance benefits OR waived medical coverage by this date.
► SEBB Program coverage begins January 1.
