If you know a family with a child who will be age-eligible to begin kindergarten in fall 2020, please pass along the following information about Ready K! We have extended the application window.
ReadyK! is a transitional kindergarten program and serves students who will start kindergarten fall 2020 and have not had any experience in preschool. ReadyK! is a free, full-day program, funded through the state.
ReadyK! students will begin school January 28, rather than waiting until September. The program will be located in various schools across the district. In fall, students will return to their home school for their kindergarten program. Transportation may be provided for students, especially those who may be attending a program site that is not their home school.
To enroll, students must:
- Be age-eligible to begin kindergarten for the upcoming school year. Students must turn 5 years old on or before August 31.
- Demonstrate need as determined by our Ready K! Screening tool.
- Lack access to a high-quality early learning experience.
If a child meets the above criteria and families would like to have them screened for need, they complete the ReadyK! Application online or at our Central Office, or contact the Ready K! team at 206-631-3396 or ReadyK@highlineschools.org.
