This year, we are launching a pilot program to create staff-led affinity groups. We are looking for staff who have an idea for a group, want to lead an existing group or wish to know more.
We believe in the power of identity-based affinity groups to address isolation and encourage our shared responsibility to dismantle inequities in our teams, schools and system.
These groups are intended to serve as another space for staff to lean into equity work and to do personal learning, listening or sharing so that they can be better leaders in equity.
This individual work is necessary and important. It is also work that many of us already do outside the workday. We thank you for that commitment and invite you to this opportunity as a way that we might share in the journey together.
All staff will be compensated for their commitment and participation in an affinity group. More information on this to come.
