This January we are launching ReadyK!, a transitional kindergarten program for children who have not had access to a high-quality early learning experience.
Ready K! Is an early entrance kindergarten program targeting:
- Children who will be 5 years old by August 31, making them eligible to begin kindergarten in the upcoming fall.
- Children who have had little or no access to a high-quality early learning experience.
- Children who demonstrate a need for early entrance, as determined by our Highline Ready K! screening.
Ready K! students start school in January, rather than waiting until September. Programs will be located in schools across Highline. Students become part of the school community, just as other kindergarten students. In the fall, students will attend their home school for their fall kindergarten program.
Ready K! is free for families and is fully funded by the state. If you know of a family that may benefit from the program, urge them to apply.
