The Personalized Learning and Data & Assessment teams partnered again this year to study the effectiveness of digital tools that are budgeted centrally. The goal of the study was to analyze student impact and growth to determine which digital tools will be funded for 2019-20.
We analyzed i-Ready, Lexia, ST Math, Discovery Ed Streaming (Discovery Ed partner schools), Gizmos and Newsela.
Analysis of the tools included quantitative and qualitative data and staff input. Based on the findings for this study, we will discontinue district licenses for Lexia and ST Math. ST Math will be available for Special Education programs by request.
District tools renewed for the 2019-20 school year are:
- Discovery Ed Streaming (Discovery Ed partner schools)
Digital Tool Review Process
When schools are considering purchasing and using digital tools with students or families by school sites, they should refer to the Highline Digital Tools page on the Staff Hub website.
Tools that have been reviewed are listed in the LearnPlatform Library of Tools. Starting in fall 2019, teachers and administrators will be able to log in to this platform to:
- See the list of reviewed tools
- Find resources and alternatives for denied tools
- Search the LearnCommunity for digital tools
- Submit requests for tools you would like reviewed by the committee.
More information will be provided to schools in the fall about the login process and how to navigate the LearnPlatform.
