Clarification of Expectations for September 13 - Non-student Day

Check out  work expectations for Family Engagement Day on September 13. This is a non-student day.

In order to understand work expectations for September 13, it is most productive to think of it like the secondary semester or elementary spring report card days.  On September 13, just like on non-student report card days, the following applies:

  • The building should be accessible to all staff and available to hold in-person family connection meetings if that is a teacher's preference.

  • Teachers/HEA staff are not required to work on September 13. However, staff responsible for family connections must complete connections by September 24.  September 13 is a day which can be used to complete the task, but is not a mandated day to report to work.

  • Administrators report to work.

  • Paraeducators do not work as they only work on student days. (Conferences are student days.)

  • Office staff and 10- or 11-month employees, who work on non-student days, report to work.

Please be sure that your staff is aware of this guidance.
