School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Open Enrollment
All employees will need to take action by electing or waiving benefits through SEBB during open enrollment.
The Washington State Legislature has enacted health insurance through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) effective January 1, 2020. All benefits currently offered through Highline will terminate December 31, 2019.
SEBB open enrollment will be from October 1 to November 15, 2019. During this time, all employees will need to take action by electing or waiving benefits through SEBB. The SEBB enrollment will be entirely online through SEBB My Account.
In light of the benefit changes, Highline will not have the traditional Benefits Fair in August. Instead, we will facilitate small informational sessions.
Open enrollment assistance is available on Fridays throughout the SEBB open enrollment period in the Central Office computer lab.
We will be distributing additional details through the Insider in the coming weeks.
In early June, the SEBB Program will mail you its newsletter, Intercom. The first issue will cover topics on eligibility, the enrollment process and dependent verification. Premiums and final health plan options will be posted on the SEBB website on September 3 and included in the Initial Enrollment Guide mailed in mid-September. Please make sure your address in Employee Online is up-to-date, to ensure you receive this important information.
School Employee Initial Enrollment Guide
In September, the SEBB Program will mail the Initial Enrollment Guide, which will include details on the available plan offerings, benefit comparison charts, monthly premiums and additional information that will help you enroll in the SEBB Program.
