Following up on professional learning opportunities launched on August 12, schedules are now available on the September 3 option for the synchronous trainings that are part of the Required Professional Learning; these are available. In collaboration with HEA, we have shifted November conference days to September to support the launch of distance learning. The first three days of school (Sept 3, 4 and 8) will be family connection days. Half of this time will be dedicated to connecting with families and students. The remaining 10.5 hours is for professional learning to support distance learning.
Staff who engage in the required professional learning in August can take equivalent time off (10.5 hrs) on September 3, 4 or 8 in exchange. (Attending August dates will not result in additional pay.)
Descriptions and calendars are below for each opportunity.
One-half of the three waiver days on September 3, 4, and 8 (10.5 hours) is set aside to connect with families at the start of the school year. Strategies and supports for these connections will be addressed in the required training addressing Family Partnerships.
