Highline Benefits Overview
- Medical insurance is optional. You have different options based on your employee group. Insurance companies allow 30 days to enroll or waive coverage.
- Dental insurance is district-paid. Employees can select one of two options: United Concordia or Willamette Dental. You have 30 days to enroll.
- Vision insurance is district-paid and provided by Northwest Benefit Network.
- Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance & VEBA are available to several employee groups.
Please return insurance applications for Premera, Kaiser, United Concordia Dental and optional insurance plans to Human Resources.
All changes to the WEA Select Aetna/UHC medical plans or WEA Select Willamette Dental plan must be requested online.
October 1 - November 15, 2019
Beginning January 1, 2020, all Washington State K-12 school employees will begin receiving health insurance and benefits through the statewide School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Program. Current insurance plans offered through Highline will end 12/31/19.
All Highline School District employees will need to elect or waive health insurance benefits through SEBB during the first Open Enrollment. Coverage for all 2019 open enrollment changes will be effective on January 1, 2020. Information about the new benefit options will be shared as it becomes available. Read more about SEBB.
